Fine jewelry can last for generations with a little care. A few small habits will keep your pieces looking their best.
- Put your jewelry on last, after makeup, perfume, hairspray, and lotion, and take it off first.
- Remove your pieces before washing your hands or applying sanitizer, and let your skin dry fully before putting them back on.
- Keep them away from chlorine, bleach, vinegar, ammonia, and other harsh liquids, and avoid immersing them in water.
- Store each piece separately in a soft, lined container so it cannot rub or scratch against other jewelry.
- Keep your pieces in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- After wear, wipe gently with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- If a piece needs more than a wipe, a soft cloth dampened with warm, soapy water will lift the dirt. Dry it well afterwards. For anything deeper, a trusted jeweller can clean it professionally.
